Black History Bulletin 1937-2014-Black History Bulletin is dedicated to enhancing the teaching and learning of history, including African Americans in U.S. history, the African Diaspora generally, and the peoples of Africa

Black World 1942-1976-The Negro Digest, later renamed Black World, was similar to the Reader's Digest but aimed to cover positive stories about the African-American community. Black World reflected concerns with politics, social action, the spiritual and economic health of the black world, as well as a broad view of artistic expression.

The Crisis 1910-2014-The Crisis is the oldest Black-oriented magazine in the world. Focusing on civil rights issues, history, politics and culture, and seeks to challenge its readers about issues that continue to plague African Americans and other communities of color.

Ebony 1945-2015-Ebony is a monthly magazine that focuses on news, culture, and entertainment. Founded in 1945 by John H. Johnson, who sought to address African-American issues, personalities and interests in a positive and self-affirming manner.

Jet 1951-2014-JET publishes articles on news, culture, and entertainment of interest to the African-American community.
