Guidelines
- Sign-up is required. Seating is limited
- Classes are available for adults ages 18 and up
- For smartphone and tablet classes, attendee must bring their own device
- Some classes may require previous knowledge
- Classes are offered at select branches
Tech Essentials
Computers 101
Learn the basics about computers in this course. We will identify the computer’s hardware, learn about using a keyboard and mouse, and navigate the Windows 10 operating system software. We will also cover the basic computer system settings, how to save and locate your files, and learn technology terminology. (Ex. Hardware vs Software) No previous knowledge of computers is required for this course.
Smartphones 101
Learn the basics of using IOS and Android in this course. We will go over how to navigate both IOS and Android, go through the device settings, and send a text with pictures. No previous knowledge of smartphones is required.
Tablets 101
Learn the basics of using IOS and Android in this course. We will go over how to navigate both IOS and Android, install apps, and get you set up with all that SEOLS has to offer with eBooks and downloadable audiobooks. No previous knowledge of tablets is required.
Online Essentials
Internet 101
Learn the basics of using a web browser and search engines to navigate the internet. We will also learn about the different web browsers that are available on the market. Basic computer knowledge is required for this course.
Email 101
Learn how to create an email account, compose an email, and add attachments to send with your email in this course. Basic computer and internet knowledge are required for this course.
Software Essentials
Word 101
Learn how to create and type up a document in this course. We will go over formatting, saving, and printing your documents. Basic computer knowledge is required for this course.
Excel 101
Learn how to perform basic calculations in a spreadsheet in this course. We will go over how to create formulas and functions to perform a wide variety of calculations. Basic computer and Word knowledge are required for this course.
PowerPoint 101
Learn how to create and build eye catching slideshows in this course. We will go over how to insert text and pictures onto a slide, format the background of the slide, and insert additional slides to your presentation. In addition, we will learn how to animate the text and pictures on each slide and how to create manual and timed transitions. Basic computer and Word knowledge are required in this course.
